e-sword is free Bible study software which combines the bible text with lots of other useful resources in one place. For example you can simultaneously see up to 4 translations of a passage side by side (there are many translations to choose from inc Hebrew, Greek and many modern foreign language translations) which is great for really getting to grips with particular texts.
The text comes with links to Strong’s concordance definitions which conveniently appear for browsing. There are also panels for concordances (from amazing sources such as Henry, Wesley and many more).
There is a text reader for other great works from other authors along with links to maps and other imagery related to the passage you are reading.
It can store your own notes and thoughts on a passage as well as generate reading guides and “A Verse of the Day”.
All in all it’s a fantastic tool which enables you to bring together a large number of resources to help you delve deeper into what the Bible is actually saying.
