We are making swift progress though the new testament, before you know it we will be in Revelation. I feel like I’m cheating a little bit. Last week I defiantly did not read every day but had a binge session at McDonald’s accompanied by a double sausage and egg McMuffin meal, mmm. But nevertheless we are still getting through it.

Thanks for the review of Thessalonians! I’m studying it in my housegroup and everything you said went along with everything we’ve done!! Which is kind of reassuring!!
Good to have a preview this week too…
Can you recommend a book that will help with finding out what the background of the books of the bible are about..the history, geography etc (is it a commentary??) any ideas of a really basic but informative book?
Pleased you’ve found it helpful (and also pleased that you findings have tied in with ours, proves to us, at least, that we are not making it up as we go along *smile*)
I have been using a book recently called Unlocking the Bible which I have found really helpful in setting the schene and giving background. It’s not a full in-depth commentary but is easy to read and sounds like the sort of thing you are after.
I’d be interested to know what others use for this sort of thing.
