Merry Christmas

Unfortunately due to the craziness that is the end of term I have been a bit slack on posting of late. And I think it’s safe to say that this will be my last post of 2005

Never fear though. 2006 will see a return to a regular service and the start of our regular weekly Bible Study. So watch out for that one.

Having returned from a fantastic candle lit carol service tonight and enjoyed the fun of the Nativity service this morning, both at St Simon’s I am well and truly in the holiday mood.

So from me I’d like to wish you a fantastic Christmas and a blessed New Year.

And, if you can forgive me the cheese, remember that Jesus is the reason for the season.

We Will Remember Them

Category : Bible, Information

Today on this remembrance Sunday it seems fitting to leave a simple tribute here.

“They shall not grow old as we who are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
WE WILL REMEMBER THEM.”
“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down oneââ?¬â?¢s life for his friends”
John 15:13

And finally these fitting words of hope:

1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.

2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,

3 he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake.

4 Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death, [a]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.

6 Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.
Psalm 23

We will remember them.

Lots going on

Category : Information

There is lots going on in the world of the Borley’s. Both myself and my wife Jo have new jobs and so this is why there has been a lack of new posts on threedays.co.uk.

Jo is now the new Youth Worker at St Simons Church in Southsea. While I will take a teaching post at Milton Cross School in Porsthmouth come September.

So it’s all change for us but we will hope to be more regular posters again soon.
