Seasons come and seasons go. Times change, etc etc…

We at threedays are incredibly busy people. Sometimes more busy that others (that would be when you notice that we haven’t posted anything for a month) and one of our members has decided that the time is right to bid us farewell.

Moving on

Felix, the man who could not write a single post without mentioning his beloved, Bruce Springsteen, has decided to take a back seat for a while. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your hard work and input over the past months. You are greatly appreciated. Make sure you check in from time to time and I expect you to still be commenting *smile*

Moving in

It seems however that we have also been blessed with a new addition. Larry, as you may have noticed, has join our merry little band and brings with him a wealth of experience and insight. We look forward to what God will share with us, through you. Welcome to the team.

A New Year, Can’t Wait…

Happy New Year to you all. With the madness of the Christmas festivities behind us we now return some normal service here at threedays. There site may have been quiet over the past few weeks but that is not to say that we haven’t been busy. This is just a quick post to give you an idea of what we have been working on and what we have to look forward to in 2007.

Having been around since 2005 we are continuing looking for ways to take move forward. So in 2007 we hope to build on what we have as well as trying new things.

LunchCast

One of last years great successes was Lunch. Rich had a great idea to introduce a regular, fairly intensive, Bible reading slot whereby we would read several chapters a day and each week discuss what we had read. For the trail period we read the 4 gospels, back to back, in about 3 months. Not only did this generate a lot of interest, but also, as a team, we got a lot out of it.

So this new year we are looking to take this forward by introducing a podcast (or LunchCast). Each week we will publish the readings for the following week and discuss the previous weeks chapters. We felt that this would be really helpful for bringing the community together. We want to help it to feel more personal and at the some time more like we really are all moving through the passages together.

So, as of next week, every Monday, the new LunchCast will be published. Watch this space for more information.

In-depth

To compliment the intense, if somewhat brief, tour of the Bible that Lunch will provide, we are also starting a new In-depth series of studies. Rather than simply giving an overview and answering general questions we will be delving into the depths of the Bible and hopefully providing something to really chew on. We will be starting with the Book of Revelation (mainly because I’ve just finished going through it myself but also as it tends to be the book that most people seem to avoid).

We want to find out what is really within the Bible’s pages. Not simply what we think is there or what others have told us is there.

Regular Bible Study

The in-depth series will happen on a regular, but, on an as and when, basis. Our regular Wednesday studies will continue much as they have been and will complete, hopefully, a broad range of studies for different peoples needs.

These three, regular, types of post will be our focus for the upcoming year. Of course, other random thoughts, just like what you have been used to, will also appear from time to time. After all, this is a blog and therefore our soap box to rant about whatever we want *smile*.

Happy New Year

The threedays team are looking forward together to a happy and healthy 2007. We are looking to grow with God, becoming more like Jesus and getting stuck into His word. It’s great to have you along for the ride.

Blessings

Lunch – Break

Having reach the end of the Gospels and with Christmas fast approaching we have decided to take a break from doing Lunch. Do you see what I did there *smile*.

As we have discussed here, I have found Lunch really useful, and from the sounds of it, a number of you guys have too. So don’t worry, we are not going away for good. It has been decided that we will start afresh in the new year, but on what, we are not yet sure. So, what are your thoughts? What would you guys like to do?

A couple of ideas were are kicking around include; continuing to march through the New Testament, the Old Testament Prophets, or even a plan to read the entire Bible in a year.

We are quite excited about the this and the interest which Lunch has generated has shown that people are hungry. So thanks for sharing this with us.

Over to you, where would you like to go for Lunch?
