Threedays has been around for over a year now and as the site grows so do the costs involved in running it. (I can hear the violins playing now.) You’ve probably noticed that we have experimented with a number of things to generate some revenue without it being obtrusive or distracting from our content; google ads, amazon a-storem, and so far we have ‘made’ about $1.72 (about 1.5p in real money).

So the problem, while not massive, remains. Well, thanks to Wess over at gatheringinlight.com I have come across a new service which we are going to try. Reviewme.com offers the opportunity for bloggers to get paid for what they do. The basic idea seems to be that advertisers choose a blog which they would like to review their product, and once reviewed, the blog receives a fee (starting at $20 (about 2p), these exchange rate jokes never get old *smile*)

Each review needs to be at least 200 words long (thins should just make it in) and the amount you are paid is based on things like your technorati and alexa rating as well as your subscription numbers. So the more popular your blog, the more revenue you receive.

Our first review

This is our first such review, so, we are being paid to post this. Don’t worry though, we are not selling our souls to cooperate monsters. Users are under no obligation to write a positive review and we do not need to accept to reviews we are offered. So you can be assured that the products you see here (if any) will only be products that are 100% relevant to you, our growing readership.

So, if you are a blog owner, check them out, you might manage to become a professional blogger after all. *smile* If you are simply a loyal reader, then consider yourself informed.

Well, here ends the theory, I’ll let you know how it works out.

Blessings.

Threedays is an evolving community and one which we want to see grow; not because we want lots of readers and commenters (although that would be nice) but because we want to be an effective and useful tool for those who want to find out what really is contained in the Bibles pages.

Tomorrow sees the launch of ‘Lunch’. As we have already talked about, ‘Lunch’ is aimed at giving us a healthy spiritual diet and to try and move away from the culture of binging and starving on spiritual pursuits. There will been a regular post on a Monday to keep the progress updated, as we aim to read a little each day of the week.

This result is our regular weekly study; currently making it’s way through Mark and Zechariah, moves to a new home of Wednesday.

Of course, expect the regular, if somewhat intermittent diet of posting on other matters of interest (at least to us).

The advent of ‘Lunch’ is a big undertaking for us and we look forward to dinning with you all over the coming weeks.

‘Lunch’ – Coming Soon

Category : Bible, Information, Lunch

I dont know about you but when it comes to reading Gods word Im a bit of a binge eater. I will go through a phase of spirituality and feast on spending time with God, this could last a few days, a few weeks but I then seem to starve my self until another binge comes along.

The problem with this is that Im excluding God from my day-to-day life; it means that a lot of the time I am running on empty which means I am doing Life in my own strength not Gods.

I know that I need a daily meal with God.

There was a period in my life when I was able to read the whole bible in 5 months. I have to admit I was well pleased with myself and my relationship with God catapulted forward. I was only able to do this because I was doing it with 30 other people.

For those of you like me that find it hard to be disciplined enough to spend time with God every day then Lunch is for you. The aim of Lunch is to create a community of people that are egger for Gods word to be their daily food. We will read the bible daily as a group and encourage and spear each other on blogging what God has shown us.

Here is how it will work.

Each weeks bible reading will be posted under the Lunch section of 3days, It will be a Monday-Friday reading programme taking some of the pressure off and giving you the weekend to catch up if needed. On Monday of each week the new list will appear and we will throw out some thoughts from the past week. This could be anything that particularly spoke to you or a question about something you just didnt get.

Let me just say, this is NOT about guilt tripping people in reading the bible, this is NOT about making people feel bad about themselves if they are unable to keep up. Lunch is for people that want to spend time with God every day but on their own struggle to do so. The beauty of Church is when we are able to encourage each others walk with God, when we are able to pick each other up, when we can carry each other and that is the purpose of Lunch.

If that sounds like something you would find helpful then get ready to join us. We are going to start by reading through the gospels. This will be a nice warm up. In particular I want to look at the life of Jesus. Our purpose is to follow Jesus and live how he lived so the more we learn about Him the more God will transform us into people that reflect Jesus.

Monday 2nd October is Launch day. Watch this space…
