Last Sunday I was preaching at St Simon’s. We have been going through a series on money and I was given the final Sunday in that run. I was using passages from Luke 16 & Matthew 6.
If you are interested you can have a listen here.
The book from the gag at the beginning is one mentioned in this post; “Service Unrighteous Mammon”. Well worth a read; the book that is, the post, not so much. *Smile*

A week later than scheduled we make it as far as Matthew 16-20. Was it worth the wait? Listen now, you decide.

After much grovelling for last weeks mockery we are assured that Rich and Rach are back in marital bliss and we move on with the Gospel of Matthew.
This weeks show
Matthew 16
Clearly the Pharisees and Sadducees have been on a different planet for the past few chapters as despite Jesus pumping out miracles for fun, they demand ‘A Sign’.
Matthew 17
Jesus gets together with Moses and Elijah for a bit of a chat. What was the Transfiguration all about?
Matthew 18
It’s story time with Jesus. One guy loses a sheep while another is an ungrateful soul. Some harsh lessons to be learnt about life in the Kingdom.
Matthew 19
Jesus tackles the slippery customer that is ‘divorce’. Who can? Who can’t? Something tells me those asking the questions somewhat missed the point.
Matthew 20
Another great tale from Jesus, this time about some workers in a vineyard who were just not quite satisfied with what they had. Jesus, also, very accurately, predicts the circumstances of his death. Surely now it wont take the deciples by surprise!

So this week you get to re read and absorb the same passages again. Never a bad thing I’m sure.
